Description

The United States Congress passed what many believe was one of the greatest criminal justice reform acts in recent years: The First Step Act. The First Step Act, since its passage has resulted in a number of changes to federal criminal law that may offer your client the opportunity for significant relief including resentencing and early release.

This CLE will provide an overview of the First Step Act and how recent changes to the United States Sentencing Guidelines are good news for many federal criminal defendants. The CLE will discuss various motions that can be filed pursuant to the First Step Act and how to litigate these motions in court.
