Catastrophic personal injury litigation presents unique legal, medical, and strategic challenges that demand a comprehensive approach to case development and advocacy. This CLE course is designed for attorneys who handle serious injury cases and offers a distinctive perspective from a presenter who is both a registered nurse and an attorney with extensive experience representing plaintiffs in catastrophic personal injury matters.

The program will examine every stage of the litigation process, from client intake, case evaluation, and investigation through discovery, expert witness preparation, settlement negotiations, and trial considerations. Drawing on both legal and medical expertise, the presenter will discuss practical strategies for developing complex injury cases, evaluating damages, and effectively presenting medical evidence.

In addition to providing valuable guidance for plaintiff's counsel, the course offers experience-based observations that will benefit attorneys representing defendants and insurance carriers by providing insight into plaintiff-side case strategy, decision-making, and litigation tactics. Lecturer Bio

Adam Starr, Esq.

Adam M. Starr is an attorney licensed to practice in the State of New Jersey and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He has litigated and tried cases in both State and Federal Court. He is certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Civil Trial Attorney and has been selected to the New Jersey listing of Super Lawyers in the practice areas of General Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice. His practice is exclusively devoted to representing Plaintiffs in personal injury matters with an emphasis on Medical Malpractice and other cases involving catastrophic injuries and wrongful death.

In addition to being a full-time attorney, Mr. Starr is a registered nurse. Prior to law school, he was a Certified Rehabilitation Nurse involved in a clinical practice that emphasized the treatment of patients with serious orthopedic and neurological (brain and spinal cord) injuries. Mr. Starr continues to maintain his nursing license and stays current on advances in all areas of nursing and medicine.

Mr. Starr serves as a court-appointed arbitrator for several Southern New Jersey counties. In addition, he has been selected as a judge and mentor for national moot court competitions. Mr. Starr also sits as a member of the New Jersey District Ethics Committee for District IV and has been selected as a Co-Chair of the Medical Malpractice Committee for the New Jersey Association for Justice (formerly ATLA-NJ).
