Can you work and still be eligible to be found disabled and receive benefits under SSA’s Disability program? Can you work after you have been found disabled and still keep your benefits? What is the “Ticket to Work” program and how does that affect those who receive disability but want to test their ability to work?

The Social Security Disability program is a doozy on the best of days, and when dealing with applicants or beneficiaries who are working, it becomes even “doozier”. Freddie Effinger, attorney and owner of Effinger Law, LLC, has been doing SSA Disability law work for 13 years – including nine as an attorney for SSA – and wants to walk you through the “do’s and don’t” when disability and work collide.

Freddrick Anthony Effinger

Freddrick Effinger is an attorney who focuses on SSA Disability with nearly 13 years of experience, including nine years working as an attorney advisor with SSA. He has provided multiple CLEs in the past, including with the Birmingham Bar Association and Legal Services of Alabama. Further, this fall, he is teaching SSA Disability as an adjunct professor at my alma matter, the University of Alabama School of Law.
