Description

Whether inside or outside counsel, an attorney must be able to provide competent, timely, and cost-effective legal advice and related services to the company and its affiliates based on an intimate knowledge of the company’s mission, operations, culture, and objectives in its domestic and global marketplace.

Business acumen is an essential quality to providing competent and effective risk assessment and legal advice. This CLE course will discuss the ethical challenges attorneys face.

Lecturer Bio

Joseph S. Kendy, Jr.. Esq.

Joseph S. Kendy Jr. is the Founder of Kendy Law, LLC, practicing business law. He has a B.A. degree in Political Science / International Relations from Providence College and a Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University Law School in Boston.

He is admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut, the U.S. District Court District of Connecticut, the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the New York Bar Association and the Connecticut Bar Association.

Formerly Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and member of the Board of Directors of Shiseido Americas Corporation, a manufacturer and supplier of cosmetic products, and Regional Counsel Americas for Shiseido Company, Limited, Tokyo, Japan.

He is an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law, Pace University for the Corporate Law Externship Program and teaches Mergers and Acquisitions, an Adjunct Professor of Business Law, at the John F. Welch College of Business & Technology, Sacred Heart University and, Member of the Dean’s Executive Advisory Board, Ancell School of Business, Western Connecticut State University.
