DescriptionThe CLE course will detail how New York, somewhat patterned on New Jersey equitable distribution law, instituted and applied equitable distribution to all divorces. The course will include the current applicable statutory and recent case law. The course will also include tips on how to argue for the best possible result for your client on all financial issues. As for spousal maintenance and child support, besides reviewing the current statutes and guidelines, and recent applicable cases as to all aspects of support, the course will emphasize the interplay of equitable distribution, spousal maintenance, and child support, both in negotiating a divorce settlement and, when necessary, litigating the financial issues. Lecturer BioPhilip Greenberg, Esq.After graduating from Brooklyn College (cum laude) and NYU School of Law, Mr. Greenberg has been a civil litigator in New York and New Jersey, State and Federal Courts, for over 48 years. Since the early 1990's, his emphasis has been on all aspects of divorce and family law. His other activities include being an International Officer of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International (leading professional law fraternity in the world), including twelve years (two as Chief Tribune) on the International Tribunal, which is the Supreme Court of the Law Fraternity. Mr. Greenberg has frequently taught CLE programs, both in-person and by webinar, in all aspects of civil litigation (such as pre-trial discovery, motion practice, trial and appellate techniques), and on Family and Divorce Law. Among his professional honors are that he has been chosen to be a Super Lawyers the last few years (Top 5% of divorce lawyers in New York), since the mid-1980's his biography has been included in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in American Law, also since the mid- 1980's, he has been A-V rated - (highest level of legal ability and ethics) in Martindale Hubbell.
