DescriptionThis CLE course is designed as a basic course to assist counsel representing a client who wants to franchise. We will discuss some practical considerations to help the client understand if franchising is the right decision, the legal obligations of a franchisor, and discuss some of the key decisions a new franchisor will need to make. Lecturer BioMary Clapp, Esq.Mary Clapp is currently the CEO of Delafran, LLC, where she focuses on franchising, representing franchisors and franchisees. Mary has almost two decades of experience providing franchise representation to franchisors and franchisees. Mary graduated first in her class, summa cum laude, from Stetson University College of Law and previously served as the General Counsel for a franchisor of family entertainment centers. She is passionate about assisting her clients in developing and understanding complex documents and legal concepts, so her clients truly understand why the information matters and are armed with the information and tools needed to grow successful, lasting businesses. Outside of the office, she enjoys painting, sculpting, and the warm Florida weather.
